Liverpool have put a £30million price-tag on Mamadou Sakho - pricing Crystal Palace out of a summer deal.
Palace had the France international on loan at Selhurst Park from January where he became an instant success.
The London club were reportedly lining up a permanent move for the former Paris Saint-Germain star.
However, the Liverpool Echo claim the move is now dead in the water following the Reds' hefty valuation.

Speaking about a move for Sakho, Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said: "I think that is going to be a very difficult one for us to do.
“That is a tough one to make happen on a permanent basis.
"We need to look at the budgets and be realistic.”
The Palace chief is also in the process of recruiting a new manager following Sam Allardyce's shock resignation at the end of the season.
"We really want somebody who feels they can come in and help us improve the footballing side of the club over a long period of time," Parish added.
"That is what we are looking for. In the past we have had managers like Steve Coppell who have been at the club a long time and helped build the club.
"If we could get one of those relationships again that would be preferable."
