NEWCASTLE have completed the signing of Chelsea winger Christian Atsu on a permanent deal.

Atsu was on loan at St James' Park, helping Newcastle gain promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking in his 32 appearances for the club.
The Ghana international joins the Magpies on a four-year deal, subject to a successful work permit application.
The deal is said to have cost Newcastle £6.2million thanks to an option in the loan deal.
A club statement read: "Newcastle United can confirm the permanent signing of Christian Atsu from Chelsea.

Newcastle sign Chelsea winger Christian Atsu on permanent deal
"The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at St James' Park, making 32 league appearances and scoring five goals as Rafa Benitez's side lifted the Championship title.
"The Magpies have now exercised an option to sign him for an undisclosed fee and the winger has signed a four-year deal.
"The transfer is subject to Atsu successfully reapplying for a work permit."

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez said on the signing: "We are happy to sign a good player.
"He's shown us that he's a good professional and someone who is very keen to learn and improve.
"Christian has been a key part of our promotion campaign and he wants to help us to build something for the future."
