Chelsea Transfer News: Man Utd deal unlikely, Newcastle talks begin, defender wanted
EXPRESS SPORT brings you the latest Chelsea transfer news.
Willian happy at Chelsea amid Manchester United rumours
Chelsea winger Willian insists he remains happy at Stamford Bridge, despite being linked with a shock move to Manchester United.
Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on a reunion with the Brazilian at Old Trafford.
But Willian said: “My future is here with Chelsea. I have a contract until 2020 and I'm happy.
“I know sometimes players always want to play but I understand why I'm not playing much.”
Newcastle in talks with Christian Atsu
Newcastle have reportedly opened talks with Chelsea winger Christian Atsu about making his loan move permanent.
The Ghana international arrived at St James' Park last summer and helped the Toon to the Championship title with five goals and three assists.
Sky Sports claim Newcastle have a £6.2million option to secure the 25-year-old's signature and are keen to make him their first signing of the summer.
Borussia Monchengladbach want Andreas Christensen stay
Borussia Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl admits he would be keen to re-sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen this summer when his two-year loan spell expires.
“We will lose him, because he has to return,” Eberl told Kicker. “This is certain.
“But, if he does pre-season at Chelsea and then does not play the role that he hopes to, we have the chance to talk again as a club where he has gained two years’ good experience.
“It could also be that he plays. Or it may be the case that they want to sell him for €25m, then we would be out of the race.”
