Cesc Fabregas feared Chelsea would fail to beat West Brom
Chelsea beat West Brom 1-0 at The Hawthorns last night to claim their second Premier League crown in three seasons.
Antonio Conte's players missed a host of chances in the first half, and Fabregas was afraid the Blues would fail to secure the vital three points.
Michy Batshuayi secured the win late on at The Hawthorns
But £33million summer signing Michy Batshuayi came off the bench to score only his sixth goal of the campaign in the 82nd minute, wrapping up the title for Chelsea.
"I thought it was going to be one of those days. We had so many chances in the first half and then we got a bit nervous," Fabregas told Sky Sports.
"The beauty of football, a player who didn't play a lot scores the winning goal for the championship."
Chelsea were crowned champions with two games to spare and could claim the double when they take on Arsenal in the FA Cup final on May 27.
