Serie A star tells friends he is Premier League-bound: This club has led the race
MANCHESTER UNITED could land Gianluigi Donnarumma for a bargain £20million - but face competition from neighbours Manchester City.
Chelsea target Gianluigi Donnarumma's INCREDIBLE saves
AC Milan’s shot-stopper has one year remaining on his contract at the San Siro.
And that has seen clubs monitor the 18-year-old’s situation as Milan seek to agree an extension.
With United set to lose David De Gea to Real Madrid this summer and City boss Pep Guardiola needing a new No1 to replace Claudio Bravo, Donnarumma is being targeted by both.
Gianluigi Donnarumma is wanted by Manchester United and Manchester City
Milan could accept an offer as low as £20m
According to The Sun, the highly-rated Italian goalkeeper has told friends he is set for a move to the Premier League.
It is said United have led the charge for Donnarumma with Jose Mourinho identifying alternatives for De Gea at Old Trafford.
And to avoid losing the teenager for free next year, Milan could accept an offer as low as £20m.
However, Manchester City have joined the race and are apparently willing to offer wages worth £70,000 a week.
First-team chances would certainly be easier to come by at the Etihad than at Old Trafford, especially if De Gea stays.
