News agency AFP revealed a world's governing body were looking into the circumstances surrounding Pogba's world record move from Juventus last summer.
It followed details revealed in the book Football Leaks: The Dirty Business of Football by Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger.
It was claimed Pogba's agent Mino Raiola would be receiving £41m for his part in the deal.
French outlet Mediapart say FIFA want to investigate Raiola for an alleged conflict of interest.
