Liverpool fans send messages to Iago Aspas ahead of Man United clash
IAGO ASPAS is known in England for his flop season at Liverpool - but now that could all change.
Iago Aspas will lead the Celta Vigo line against Man United
The Spanish striker is at Celta Vigo and he will lead their frontline against Manchester United in a Europa League semi-final next month.
Aspas played 15 games for Liverpool where he scored just one goal.
But now Liverpool fans are begging him to show what he can do against United to end the Euro dreams of their fierce rivals.
Kopites have taken to Twitter to send begging messages to the striker after the draw yesterday.
Iago Aspas flopped during his season at Liverpool
One read: "Iago Aspas - Please destroy this average but lucky United team #LFC."
Another hopeful Liverpool supporter wrote: "The scenes when Iago #Aspas knocks @ManUtd out of the @EuropaLeague #LFC #YNWA."
A fellow fan, frustrated at Aspas' performances on Merseyside, added: "borderline hate Iago Aspas but if he helps knock United out of the Europa League bridges can be built #lfc."
Another joked: "Iago Aspas. Liverpool legend.... in the making #LFC #EuropaLeague."
Iago Aspas was signed as cover for Luis Suarez
Aspas was brought to Liverpool by Brendan Rodgers in 2013 for £7m.
He was signed to give the Kop boss alternative options with Luis Suarez starting the season with a suspension.
But he failed to hit it off and after one troubled season he was loaned out to Sevilla.
Despite his troubles in England, things have gone decidedly better in Spain.
Aspas has played 43 games for Celta this season, scoring 23 goals.
