Ex-Arsenal star offers Arsene Wenger transfer advice about signing Chelsea player
ARSENAL should not sign Chelsea defender John Terry this summer, according to former Gunners midfielder Stewart Robson.
Arsene Wenger urged not to sign John Terry
Terry, 36, this week announced he will leave Chelsea at the end of the season after more than two decades at Stamford Bridge.
The former England captain has won 14 major honours during his time at Chelsea but has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte this term.
Stewart Robson says John Terry not good enough to play for Arsenal
Harry Redknapp recently suggested that Terry's experience would benefit Arsenal, with the Gunners lacking a real leader in their squad.
But former Arsenal midfielder Robson has urged Arsene Wenger to avoid signing Terry, claiming the Blues skipper is no longer good enough to play at the top level.
"He would have to move down [a level] slightly. I don't think he is the top player he was," Robson told talkSPORT.
John Terry will leave Chelsea at the end of the season
"He has been a brilliant player for Chelsea, he was a brilliant player for England, but he lacks mobility now.
"Players in the Premier League need to be mobile - they can't be static. He can't play in a three at the back and I'm not sure he can play in a two now.
"He needs too much protection. An excellent player, but I think he probably knows he can't play at the very top any more."
