SEAMUS COLEMAN was in severe pain on the field after suffering a broken leg during Ireland's 0-0 draw with Wales, Shane Long has revealed.

Seamus Coleman broke his leg following a heavy challenge by Neil Taylor in the Ireland's World Cup qualifier against Wales last night.
The Everton defender was given oxygen on the pitch and is understood to have suffered a double fracture in his right tibia.
And his Ireland team-mate Shane Long has revealed he was in severe pain on the field as he attempted to comfort him.

"It's not nice. I was trying to comfort Seamus on the pitch," Long said.
"He is loved by everyone, he's obviously a great player and he is going to be a big loss.
"I was trying to comfort him, he was in a lot of pain.
"It was a bad challenge, a bad injury, I just tried to settle him and relax him and it's not nice to see anyone go through that.
"Everyone loves Seamus and it's hard to see when he goes down but I am sure he will come back fitter and stronger."
Coleman his undergoing surgery today at St Vincents hospital in Dublin.
