Arsene Wenger created confusion after leaving Alexis Sanchez out of his starting XI at Anfield yesterday.
It was a decision he would come to regret as the Gunners lost 3-1.
Although Sanchez came on and created a goal for Danny Welbeck in the second-half, the damage was done in the first 45 mins.
But Wenger didn’t want to over-analyse his selection, instead preferring to bemoan the collective performance of his side.

When pressed for his thoughts on Sanchez’s supposed frustration, Wenger said: “I don’t think there’s any need to go into any individual explanation.
“What was good in the second half was our collective performance.
“What was not good in the first half was our collective performance.
“For me, that’s a much more rational explanation than the rest.”
