Wayne Rooney: My thoughts on Tyrone Mings stamp on Zlatan Ibrahimovic
WAYNE ROONEY expects Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings will face retrospective action for his stamp on Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Wayne Rooney says Tyrone Mings stamp is "wrong"
Mings stood on the Ibrahimovic's head during the 1-1 draw at Old Trafford moments before he was elbowed by the Manchester United striker.
Referee Kevin Friend failed to see Mings' stamp - inadvertently or otherwise - as both players escaped punishment.
But United captain Rooney is confident the Bournemouth defender will face retrospective action.
Rooney said on the incident: "I don’t think he’s seen Mings stamp on Zlatan’s head – I was right there – it’s wrong.
“Everyone likes to go in for tackle in the game but to try and stamp on a player’s head is wrong – there’s no place for it.

"I’m sure there will be punishment after the game."
Ibrahimovic capped an eventful afternoon when he saw his 72nd-minute penalty saved by Artur Boruc after Adam Smith was penalised for handball.
Marcus Rojo had earlier put United ahead but Josh King equalised from the penalty spot after Marc Pugh was brought down by Phil Jones.
