Jak Alnwick has secured a move to Rangers
The 23-year-old Englishman last night agreed terms on a £200,000 transfer from Port Vale after the Light Blues activated his release clause last week.
Alnwick comes in on a three-and-a-half-year contract to provide competition for No 1 Wes Foderingham.
Alnwick said: “Wes Foderingham has been excellent. It’s going to be a tough job but I’ll keep plugging away.”
He added on Twitter: “A dream come true to join Rangers, looking forward to being part of this amazing club.”
Matt Gilks will be allowed to leave Rangers
The capture will allow Rangers to let back-up keeper Matt Gilks leave.
Wigan Athletic are favourites to sign the 34-year-old, although there remains firm interest from Burton Albion.
