Man United ace limps out of comeback match: Jose Mourinho could be without his star again
ERIC BAILLY’s Manchester United return was cut short tonight.
Eric Bailly was taken off 58 minutes into his return match for the under 23s
The defender made his first appearance in a United shirt since coming home from the Africa Cup of Nations.
He was playing for the Under-23s against Everton, but had to be substituted after less than a hour with an ankle injury.
It could mean a further spell on the sidelines for the £30m defender who was so impressive in the opening weeks of the season.
Bailly joined United from Villarreal in the summer but after an impressive start to life in Manchester has been blighted by injuries.
The 22-year-old has made just three starts - and only four appearances - since going off against Chelsea in the 4-0 defeat back in October.
Eric Bailly has made just four appearances since getting injured in October
He missed around 10 weeks before returning in Europe but then limped off in the win over Crystal Palace in December, missing another two weeks.
And he then jetted off to the Africa Cup of Nations.
But he could be set for more time out after another setback and is now surely a doubt for Manchester United’s clash with Hull on Wednesday.
United have moved to allay fears by saying he was substituted as a precaution but his ankle was taped up in the dug out.
