Roberts only took over the captaincy at Barnsley after Conor Hourihane left for Aston Villa.
But the Yorkshire Post claim defender Roberts could be offloaded onto Swansea before tomorrow’s 11pm transfer deadline.
According to the report, Swansea are prepared to pay £5m for the 26-year-old.

Burnley have also been linked with Roberts but value him at £3.5m.
Barnsley are unlikely to be happy about Roberts’ departure, especially with Alfie Mawson leaving for Swansea at the start of the season.
Star striker Sam Winnall, Reece Brown and James Bree have also departed the Tykes this month.
