Ex-Man United defender trolls Steven Gerrard: This is why I’m no failure
ALEXANDER BUTTNER has teased Steven Gerrard, claiming he wasn’t a failure at Manchester United, because he won the title.
Alexander Buttner won the Premier League during his short spell at Manchester United
Buttner spent two seasons at Manchester United, managing just 28 appearances before he was sold to Dynamo Moscow two years ago.
The 27-year-old, who rejoined Vitesse Arnhem earlier this week, still collected a Premier League winners’ medal in the 2012/13 campaign, despite making just five appearances.
Previously, players only had to make at least 10 league appearances to be eligible.

Gerrard, meanwhile, won everything during his time at Liverpool.
However, the league title was the sole honour that evaded him.
But Buttner couldn’t resist a dig at Gerrard.
Steven Gerrard debunks MK Dons rumours
“I was on the pitch for United 30 times,” he told Dutch paper De Telegraaf.
“Who can say that he has been a champion in England? I can. Even Steven Gerrard did not succeed.
“I’ve become a much better football player, I played in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against Bayern Munich and Arjen Robben.”
