WEST BROM are reportedly preparing a last-ditch attempt to hijack Everton's move for Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The 27-year-old has fallen down the pickling order at Manchester United under manager Jose Mourinho and has been heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
West Brom boss Tony Pulis confirmed his interest in bringing Schneiderlin to the Hawthorns in January.

But Everton are apparently now leading the race to sign the Frenchman as Ronald Koeman looks to secure a reunion with the player he used to manager at Southampton.
However, the Daily Mirror claim the Baggies have not given up on trying to secure Schneiderlin's signature.

It is claimed West Brom are ready to lodge a last-ditch bid that will smash their transfer record to bring Schneiderlin to the club.
Pulis is desperate to bolster his ranks as he looks to maintain the Baggies' impressive Premier League from, which sees them currently sitting in eighth place.
The report adds Albion are also willing to make Schneiderlin their highest-paid player.
Scheiderlin has made just seven appearances across all competitions for United this season and is contracted to the club until 2019.
