Jose Mourinho: Our focus is to win the next game
Jose Mourinho is just six months into his current four-year contract at Manchester United.
The Portuguese boss has endured a rocky start to his tenure at Old Trafford, having already slipped 13 points behind Premier League leaders Chelsea.
However, the Daily Star claim United’s board remain fully behind the manager and they are in fact seeking to tie him down to a huge new contract.
According to the report, United will offer the former Chelsea and Real Madrid head coach an eight-year contract running until 2025.
Mourinho already earns £15million a season at Old Trafford, meaning the new terms would take his overall earnings at United to £135m if he saw out the deal.
Express Sport understands United bosses have no problems with Mourinho despite United’s poor start under his stewardship.
The club sit sixth in the Premier League and four points off fourth-place Arsenal.

At this stage last season Mourinho was already being linked with the Old Trafford post after being sacked by Chelsea. Then-United manager Louis van Gaal’s job was under threat following their Champions League group stage exit.
Mourinho, 53, has never spent more than three successive seasons at any club he has previously managed.
The two-time Champions League winner was axed in December last year following Chelsea’s disastrous start to their league title defence.

United face Sunderland on Boxing Day and will also play Middlesbrough and West Ham before the festive period is over.
Mourinho is already plotting his January transfer dealings, with United’s lining up Benfica defender Victor Lindelof in a £38m deal.
Benfica officials have flown to Manchester to thrash out the deal with their United counterparts.
There are reports in Portugal that United are also hoping to sign Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo, who has been a mainstay for the Portuguese league leaders alongside Lindelof.
