Joey Barton has agreed a return to Burnley until the end of the season
The controversial midfielder left Rangers in November after a bust-up with Mark Warburton and team-mate Andy Halliday.
Burnley confirmed he had officially agreed a return to the club today after taking part in training this month.
He will be eligible to play from January 1 when the transfer window reopens.
"The Clarets have agreed terms with the midfielder on a deal until the end of the season – subject to international clearance once the transfer window opens in January," a club statement read.

Joey Barton has returned to Turf Moor until the end of the season
Barton helped the Clarets win promotion to the Premier League last season but rejected a new contract and moved north of the border to join Rangers.
However his time in Scotland was cut short after a disappointing spell.
Barton, 34, made just six appearances the last of which came in the 5-1 derby defeat at Park Head.
