Birmingham sack manager Gary Rowett
Gary Rowett, a former Birmingham player, took charge at St Andrew's in October 2014 and has led the Blues to seventh in the Championship table this season.
The 42-year-old saw Birmingham beat Ipswich 2-1 on home soil last night but the board are keen to bring in a new manager ahead of the January transfer window.
A Blues statement read: "The club has today parted company with manager Gary Rowett. This has not been an easy decision to make.

"Gary’s contract, and those of his backroom staff – Kevin Summerfield, Mark Sale, Kevin Poole and Darren Robinson – have been terminated with immediate effect."
The club's new owners Trillion Trophy Asia, who bought Birmingham in October, are determined to take the Midlands outfit to the next level.
Birmingham currently sit just outside the play-offs on goal difference after winning nine of their opening 21 matches.

Club director Panos Pavlakis said: “Such a parting of the ways is always difficult, particularly so on a personal level as I have worked very closely with Gary and have got to know him well.
"Our relationship was very strong but in football you can never stand still.
"I would ask that our supporters trust our judgement and look forward to and embrace the future as we begin to implement the exciting vision of TTAL.”
