JOSE MOURINHO has revealed why Anthony Martial and Henrikh Mkhitaryan kept their place in Manchester United’s starting XI against Everton.

Martial has been in and out of the team under Mourinho but scored a brace in United’s 4-1 win over West Ham in midweek.
Mkhitaryan has also found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Manchester United.

But the Armenia international impressed against the Hammers in midweek with a Man of the Match display.
And Jose Mourinho revealed the duo have kept their places to help United play quick football.

“Martial and Mkhitaryan are players who are faster at transporting the ball into attacking areas and attacking spaces in behind defenders,” Mourinho told Sky Sports.
“Everybody is playing well, [Juan] Mata is playing well, Martial is playing well, so all the players in these positions are playing well.
“It’s not about Martial and Mkhitaryan because everyone is playing well.”
