Liverpool suffered a blow on Saturday when they beat Sunderland 2-0 at Anfield, as Coutinho was stretchered off the pitch with an ankle injury.
Coutinho is expected to spend up to six weeks on the sidelines.
Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp's men booked their spot in the EFL Cup semi-finals after overcoming Leeds 2-0 earlier this evening.

Origi was given a rare start, and he showed Klopp what he can do by netting the opener after 76 minutes.
Although he was replaced in stoppage time by Marko Grujic, the 21-year-old Belgian was pleased with his night's work.
"When you can help the team it's very good," Origi said.

"Today we showed we have a big squad and we all want to bring something to the team.
"For me, it's disappointing because Phil Coutinho was in very big form, but when I came on the pitch I thought about doing my thing and enjoying my game.
"I hope this season will go well."
Liverpool, who are second in the Premier League table, travel to face Bournemouth on Sunday (1:30pm).
