JOSE MOURINHO admits he was not aware of Wayne Rooney's goalscoring record in Europe until after last night's Europa League win over Feyenoord.
Wayne Rooney - 5 things you need to know
Wayne Rooney's goal in the 4-0 win over Feyenoord was his 39th in continental competitions, a tally that saw him overtake Ruud van Nistelrooy as Manchester United's leading scorer in European games.
The goal - a first-half dink over Brad Jones - also leaves the Red Devils captain just one behind Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time haul of 249.
Jose Mourinho said after the game: "I didn’t know [about the record]. And more important than that is the three points that we need and the performance of the team.

"But I think when you make history it's always beautiful, just beautiful details in your career and in this case for Wayne it's fantastic."
Following Rooney's opener at Old Trafford, the 31-year-old set up Juan Mata to double the lead after the break.
An own-goal from keeper Jones and a stoppage-time effort from Jesse Lingard wrapped up a win that leaves United second in Group A.

And Rooney said on his record: "It's a great feeling to score goals and to score goals for this club. So I'm pleased. I'm sure there's plenty more to come and I'm happy with the win as well as the goal.
"It was a good win. We're pleased we got four goals. I think the second goal killed the game, even though we were in control at 1-0. You never know what can happen."
