MICHAEL CARRICK has warned Arsenal that Manchester United have yet to hit top gear ahead of their clash at Old Trafford on Saturday (12.30pm).

Manchester United have got off to an unconvincing start to the season under new manager Jose Mourinho, winning just five of their opening 11 Premier League games.
The Red Devils currently sit sixth in the table and find themselves eight points adrift of leaders Liverpool and six points behind rivals Arsenal.

But Carrick reckons United are yet to reach the level of consistency expected of them and feels there is still plenty to come.
“Arsenal have got some really good players,” he said. "When it clicks for them they are a very dangerous team and they’ve shown in their start to the season how dangerous they can be.

“But I think we can be quite dangerous as well and we probably haven’t quite clicked into top gear which, in some ways is a good thing, because we know there’s plenty to come.
“If we can just hang in there and not be too far away we feel when we do hit top form we’ll have a right say in it.”
Carrick is in contention to start in defensive midfield against the Gunners after putting in some impressive displays recently, with United winning all four matches the England international has started this term.
