Reports last week suggested Jose Mourinho would make a move for Ozil, who he spent time with at Real Madrid, in the summer if contract talks stalled with Arsenal.
United would reportedly be ready to hand the midfielder a £250,000-a-week in wages, but it seems the Portuguese boss will have to look elsewhere for a midfielder in the transfer window now.
