ASHLEY FLETCHER will not be allowed to leave West Ham on loan in January unless a new striker can be brought in, according to reports.

Fletcher joined West Ham from Manchester United over the summer despite a host of interest from Championship clubs.
The 21-year-old has made seven Premier League appearances this term for the Hammers but Leeds are reportedly still keen to sign him.
A loan deal in January seems the most likely option for Garry Monk's side who are pressing for promotion this season via the play-offs.

However, a West Ham source has claimed the club are still unsure whether they can afford to lose Fetcher on loan.
“We can’t even think about it until that time as we obviously don’t know what our injury situation is likely to be," a source told The Sun.
“And of course, with the African Nations Cup, the earliest we would do anything would be January 31.”
The Hammers are currently struggling for options up top with Juventus loanee Simone Zaza struggling to find his feet in the Premier League.

The Italy international has made nine appearances for Slaven Bilic's side but is yet to score a single goal.
