Gary Neville mocks Liverpool (again) after Jamie Carragher laughs at him over Chelsea loss
GARY NEVILLE took aim at Liverpool after Jamie Carragher mocked the former Manchester United star following his team’s thrashing at Chelsea.
Gary Neville's classic 2006 celebration against Liverpool
Neville and Carragher work together for Sky Sports and regularly take to social media to tease one another.
And Liverpool great Carragher wasted no time in sticking the boot into his colleague after Manchester United were humilated 4-0 by Chelsea.
In a perhaps regrettable move, Neville posted a picture of himself on a motorbike just after United’s humbling at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
Man Utd get beat 4-0 & @GNev2 is taking a selfie on a bike, does it get better than this?!! pic.twitter.com/eZ9MXBXJgw

Carragher jumped on the snap, re-posting it along with the caption: “Man Utd get beat 4-0 & @GNev2 is taking a selfie on a bike, does it get better than this?!!”
But this morning Manchester United fan Neville was in the mood to hit back, replying: “Yes my next tweet is better.”
The 41-year-old followed that up with a picture from inside Anfield, in what appears to be a hospitality suite with the words ‘Where greatness happens’ emblazoned on the wall.

Sort of!! I hope they don't win the league or that tweet could be painful! https://t.co/zwWYjWgA5e

Neville put: “Taken at Anfield Monday ‘ happened ’” in a simple but pretty damn effective put down.
Neville’s dig is in reference to Liverpool’s glory days of the 1970s and 1980s, in contrast to United who have won the majority of their league titles since the Reds last lifted theirs (1989/90).
Carragher, 38, has yet to respond, although Neville admitted his own tweet could come back to haunt him should Jurgen Klopp’s side go on to win the title.

When asked: ‘Clearly a deflection to hide from yesterday then Gary ? ;-)' by user @bajankris, the former England coach joked: “Sort of!! I hope they don't win the league or that tweet could be painful!”
It is not the first time Neville has burned Liverpool recently, having posted a picture of four fans at Anfield taking photographs of Jose Mourinho before the 1-1 draw between the two sides last Monday.
One thing is clear, Gary Neville really doesn’t like Liverpool…
