The 53-year-old joined United in 2014 as part of Louis van Gaal's backroom staff having worked with him at AZ Alkmaar and Bayern Munich.
Van Gaal was sacked by United in May with his successor Jose Mourinho bringing in almost an entirely new staff from his time at Chelsea.
But Bout remained at United and according to reports in Holland, he is now set for a new role at the club.
Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad say Bout will be responsible for finding talents for the first-team and academy.
