Jurgen Klopp discusses difficult selection choices ahead of Hull clash
JURGEN KLOPP says he's happy to have a selection headache at Liverpool as it shows the strength of his squad.
Liverpool vs Hull - Premier League match preview
The Reds manager made seven changes for the comfortable 3-0 EFL Cup win at Derby, even leaving striker Daniel Sturridge out of the squad completely.
Klopp saw Emre Can return from injury, Danny Ings make his first appearance of the season, Marko Grujic and Loris Karius handed their first starts and also gave a debut to 18-year-old Ovie Ejara.
The German will have to decide whether to stick with summer signing Karius in goal or recall Simon Mignolet, who started the opening six games of the season.
Can's comeback also increases the competition in midfield, with Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum left out of the squad at the iPro Stadium.
While Sadio Mane - also rested - is certain to get a recall up front for Saturday's clash with Hull, which means Sturridge could find himself on the bench again.
Jurgen Klopp welcomes selection headache
"The more players I have, the more difficult choices there are for me but the better it is for LFC," Klopp said ahead of Hull's visit to Anfield (3pm).
"Can's fitness is not a problem. He has a strong mentality and fight but it is about rhythm - we can't go into a shop and buy rhythm. I don't rush it and Emre is cool about it."
