Lee eases Bristol's queasiness
SOUTHAMPTON 0 BRISTOL CITY 1
Bristol City manager Gary Johnson said he was sickened by his side’s inept showing against Reading a week ago, so he wanted his players to feel the same leading up to this clash.
They were pushed to the limits in training, with Johnson saying: “More than one or two were physically sick. We took
them to a place where maybe they hadn’t been.”
The gruelling schedule did the trick with Johnson’s son Lee, above, scoring the winner. City also missed a penalty when Kelvin Davis saved from Michael McIndoe.
Lee Johnson said: “It was a difficult week for everyone but nice to top it off with the goal.
“I’m a villain one week and a hero the next. I could be the villain again soon so I’ve got to keep working hard to make sure it doesn’t happen.”
