Liverpool ready to make £28.1m bid for Schalke midfielder
LIVERPOOL are reportedly ready to make a £28.1million bid for Schalke midfielder Max Meyer.
Max Meyer has been linked with a move to Liverpool
The German, who has one international cap, impressed for Schalke last season, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in 32 appearances for the club.
And according to German newspaper Bild, Liverpool have enquired about the availability of the 20-year-old.
Jurgen Klopp is apparently a long-term admirer of the German, and tried to sign him at Borussia Dortmund two years ago.
And Bild add the Reds are willing to make a £28.1m bid for the midfielder.
However Schalke do not want to sell Meyer, especially with Leroy Sane closing in on a move to Manchester City.
Klopp has already made a number of singings during his first summer at Anfield.
Sadio Mane has arrived for £30million for Southampton while Ragnar Klavan, Loris Karius, and Alex Manninger have also joined.
Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum is also closing in on a £25m move to Anfield, and is set to have a medical today.
