New Leicester signing Nampalys Mendy previously played under Claudio Ranieri at Monaco
The 24-year-old midfielder excelled in Ligue 1 last season, making 38 appearances.
And his form convinced Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri to launch a move for a player he previously managed during his two-year spell as Monaco manager.
"For me I want to play at this level. I like the Premier League and I follow every match. It’s fast and physical and I want to impose myself on the league.
“I know the coach (Claudio Ranieri), I know his mentality and I know his philosophy. When he speaks it’s direct and clear and for me I like this."
Mendy is Leicester's third summer signing, following last month's captures of Sporting Gijon defender Luis Hernandez and Hannover goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler.
