Napoli leapfrog Liverpool in race for Porto midfielder
NAPOLI have reportedly leapfrogged Liverpool in the race to sign Porto midfielder Hector Herrera.
Napoli are now apparently leading the race for Hector Herrera
The Mexican impressed in Portugal last season, scoring nine goals and creating a further five for Porto.
However he is apparently ready to leave the Portuguese club this summer.
Liverpool have been linked with a move to bring the 26-year-old to Anfield.
But Italian outlet Tutto Mercato, claim Napoli are now leading the race for the midfielder.
The report claims Napoli have overtaken the Reds after agreeing personal terms with Herrera.
However the Italian club have yet to agree a deal with Porto for the Mexico international.
And they are currently only willing to make an offer of £14million, which is below Porto's asking price.
