Chelsea ahead of Manchester United in £60m striker race as Arsenal pull out
ARSENAL have reportedly given up on signing Alvaro Morata leaving the path clear for Manchester United or Chelsea.
Morata leads the line for Spain and could do the same for Chelsea next season
Morata is currently on international duty with Spain at Euro 2016, scoring twice as Vicente del Bosque's side beat Turkey 3-0 on Friday.
However, his future in club football is unclear.
Morata left Real Madrid two years ago to join Juventus but there is a clause in his transfer allowing them to bring him back to the Bernabeu.
And while the Mirror also claim Manchester United will not pay £60m, Jose Mourinho is ready to splash out on the striker with a fee closer to £50m.
Chelsea however are now said to be favourites with the 23-year-old's Euro 2016 performances pushing him up their pecking order of potential summer signings.
