Arsene Wenger to sign another striker after Jamie Vardy deal
Express Sport understand the Gunners have activated Vardy's £20million release clause and have offered the England star a £120,000-a-week deal to lure him away from the Premier League champions.
The 29-year-old helped guide Claudio Ranieri's Leicester to the title this year with 24 goals.
And Giroud, currently Arsenal's first-choice forward, expects to see another striker to follow Vardy as Danny Welbeck looks to miss the majority of next season with a knee injury.
Wenger has been linked with summer moves for Juventus' Alberto Morata, Napoli's Gonzalo Higuain and more recently Hoffenheim's Antonio Colak.
Giroud said: "With Welbs injured, the boss wanted to sign at least one or two strikers so I expected a top striker.
"I think it's [Vardy's arrival] very beneficial to the club. Hopefully he's going to score lots of goals like he has for Leicester."
Jamie Vardy: Five things you need to know
Giroud admits he's not worried about his first-team place at Arsenal and is confident he can work well alongside the pacey forward.
The Frenchman added: "I think we can be complimentary, that's all I can say.
"In that past I'm OK with competition and we always have fantastic strikers at Arsenal and I want the best for this club. Hopefully he's going to help us to this title."
