The Germany international, who scored the winning goal in the 2014 World Cup final, was thought to be eyeing a move away from Bayern.
But his father claimed this week that Gotze won't be joining Klopp's revolution on Merseyside.
Mario Gotze - 5 things you need to know
Gotze's father Jurgen had told German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung earlier this week that his son was not interested in joining Liverpool.
"I don't know anything about an alleged imminent transfer to Liverpool," he had said.
"Mario is my son, we talk to each other. I would know about it."
Gotze is valued at £20million by Bayern Munich, who were thought to have made him available for transfer ahead of Carlo Ancelotti's arrival.
Liverpool have already confirmed the summer arrivals of Joel Matip and Marko Grujic, while Mainz goalkeeper Loris Karius has signed a long-term contract at the club.
