Arsenal offered fresh hope over striker deal: Morata will talk to Real Madrid next week
ARSENAL'S pursuit of Alvaro Morata could receive a significant boost next week when the striker holds talks with Real Madrid over a transfer.
Alvaro Morata will talk to Real Madrid over a transfer, with Arsenal waiting for their chance
Juventus frontman Morata is tipped to rejoin Real, who have a £23million buy-back clause on the player after selling him in 2014.
But reports in Spain claim the negotiations with Bernabeu bosses are unlikely to lead to a deal.
According to newspaper Marca, Morata will demand first-team football at Real or will refuse to complete the transfer.
Real would likely have to sell one of their current crop in order to convince Morata to return to the capital.
And Arsenal could benefit from that situation.
The Gunners have apparently revived their interest in 23-year-old Morata after confirmation that Danny Welbeck will be injured for nine months.
Alvaro Morata - 5 things you need to know
England forward Welbeck has had an operation after injuring his knee in Arsenal's 2-2 draw at Manchester City on Sunday and will miss Euro 2016.
Arsenal were thought to have been searching for a new striker anyway and Welbeck's injury only increases the pressure on manager Arsene Wenger to bring in fresh recruits.
Morata has scored 11 goals this season and is tipped to make Spain's 23-man squad for Euro 2016.
