Real Madrid manager reveals Cristiano Ronaldo fitness ahead of Man City clash
ZINEDINE ZIDANE has revealed Cristiano Ronaldo will be at full fitness for Real Madrid’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Manchester City.
Ronaldo has missed three straight games but will return tomorrow night
Ronaldo was forced to sit out the first leg as Joe Hart’s heroics at the Etihad ensured Real were unable to score without their talisman and the game ended 0-0.
The Portuguese superstar has now missed the last three games with a thigh injury - including Saturday’s 1-0 win over Real Sociedad in La Liga.
However, the 31-year-old took part in full training today ahead of the clash and Zidane is confident the forward will be in peak condition at the Bernabeu tomorrow night (7.45pm).
But Manuel Pellegrini was quick to dismiss suggestions that City have only been preparing for Ronaldo.
“It would be a mistake to think only based on those two and whether or not they play,” Pellegrini said.
“I think a forward line of [Gareth] Bale with Isco or James Rodriguez would be extremely worrying.
“You have to prepare your team regardless of names and then put the finishing touches according to what you know.”
