Dortmund eye shock swap deal with Bayern Munich: Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool frozen out
BORUSSIA DORTMUND are considering a bid to bring Mario Gotze back to the club and send Mats Hummels in the opposite direction, according to reports.
Hummels and Gotze could be on the move this summer
Express Sport understands Jurgen Klopp is keen on reuniting with Gotze at Liverpool.
The German left Dortmund, where he played under Klopp, in 2013 in a controversial £31.5million switch to Bayern Munich.
And since then he has racked up 113 appearances, but only 20 of those have come in the current campaign as the 23-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular spot in Pep Guardiola's side.
However, the defending Bundesliga champions have yet to make a bid for the centre-back.
And they could face competition for his signature from both Manchester United and Arsenal.
Both teams are expected to look for central defenders this summer and have tried to sign the player before.
But the Gotze deal means Dortmund could be more willing to do business with Munich and solve both clubs' problems.
Liverpool would lose out if Gotze were to return to his old club, with Klopp close to the World Cup winner.
