Man Utd and Liverpool on red alert for frustrated Barcelona star
MANCHESTER UNITED and Liverpool are both chasing Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Man Utd and Liverpool are both keen to capitalise on Ter Stegen's situation
United, recent reports suggest, are eyeing a shot-stopper to replace David de Gea who could head to Real Madrid in the summer.
Liverpool meanwhile are thought to be keen to provide competition for Simon Mignolet.
Ter Stegen currently shares goalkeeping duties with Claudio Bravo for domestic matches, but the German was in between the sticks for the 3-1 Champions League win over Arsenal last night.
According to the Daily Mail, Ter Stegen has a £63million buy-out clause.
But with the club needing to pay for new deals to keep hold of Neymar, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, Ter Stegen could be sacrificed.
The 23-year-old admitted earlier this week he is becoming fed up of his job share.
It's all childs-play at Barcelona training
“I am not interested in being the goalkeeper of the the future,” Ter Stegen said.
“The future can be a long way off.”
The report indicates Manchester City won’t make a move with incoming boss Pep Guardiola to put his complete faith in number one choice Joe Hart.
