Manchester United braced for player exodus when Jose Mourinho arrives
MANCHESTER UNITED could watch a number of their best young talents leave the club next season, according to reports.
Mourinho is not known for promoting academy graduates - such as Marcus Rashford - to the first team
Express Sport understands Jose Mourinho expects to be appointed United boss this summer if Louis van Gaal fails to qualify for the Champions League.
If Manchester City beat Norwich the Red Devils will find themselves six points off the Premier League top four and Van Gaal will be staring down the barrel.
And The Times are claiming that if Mourinho does replace the Dutchman, United's young players are worried they will not be given a chance in the first team.
The United hierarchy have recently appointed Nicky Butt as head of the academy and are hoping to restore the club's pride in their youth system which has been overtaken by that of rivals City.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the rest of the board are said to have concerns over Mourinho's poor track record with youth-team players but will stipulate that he makes use of academy graduates if he comes to Old Trafford.
