Monaco vice-president lifts lid on Anthony Martial's 'unexpected' Manchester United move
MONACO's vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has revealed how he was forced into selling Anthony Martial to Manchester United.
Anthony Martial forced his move to Manchester United by saying it's his 'dream'
Martial made the move to Old Trafford on last summer's deadline day in a deal that could eventually be worth in excess of £60million.
Express Sport understands United paid an initial fee of £38m that is set to increase once certain clauses come into effect, potentially making him the record British transfer.
"If we kill this dream, you can also lose the boy for several months."
He sent me his first autographed jersey and thanked me for giving him this chance
But the deal was eventually finalised, with Martial becoming the most expensive teenage signing of all time, and Vasilyev admits relations with the 20-year-old are now good.
"He sent me his first autographed jersey and thanked me for giving him this chance," he added.
