Arsene Wenger reveals return date for crocked Arsenal star
ARSENE WENGER has revealed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could return before the end of the season.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain set for eight weeks on the sidelines
The England international damaged both his knee and ankle in last month's 2-0 defeat to Barcelona and was expected to miss the rest of the campaign.
But Wenger admits he could return to action in up to eight weeks, meaning he could be fit for the final two games with Manchester City and Aston Villa in May.
The Gunners boss, speaking ahead of tomorrow's visit of Swansea, said: “He will be out for six to eight weeks but he won’t need surgery.”
But when quizzed on the rest of his team, the Frenchman added: “We have one or two [players with] muscular tightness but everybody should be alright for tomorrow.”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain - Spotlight on
The 22-year-old winger has made 33 appearances for Arsenal this season, chipping in with two goals and as many assists in all competitions so far.
Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the crucial title clash with Tottenham on Saturday, as well as the FA Cup replay with Hull and the Champions League last 16 second leg at Barca.
