Manchester United in the clear as Arsenal baulk at transfer demands
ARSENAL will reportedly not compete with Manchester United to sign Borussia Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - because he will cost too much.
Arsenal will not pay £60m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang
The Gunners are understood to be keen on signing the Bundesliga striker.
Aubameyang, 26, has scored 27 goals in 27 games this season.
But The Daily Mirror claim his prowess isn't enough to convince Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger to splash out big money to secure a deal.
According to the reports, United are willing to spend £60million on the Gabon international.
The Daily Mail claimed at the weekend that the figure could rise to as much as £70m.
Arsenal are said to have baulked at that asking price and will instead seek alternative striker targets.
