Man Utd stars fear repeat scenes at Chelsea with Jose Mourinho appointment
MANCHESTER UNITED players have their own reservations over Jose Mourinho taking charge, according to reports.
Jose Mourinho is set to take over at Manchester United
Mourinho is already thought to have told friends his move to United is a 'done deal'.
Express Sport understands the Portuguese tactician will sign a three-year contract worth £15.5million a season, making him the highest paid manager in world football.
Other reports have indicated Mourinho will carry out a ruthless purge and axe Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini when he takes over.
And according to the Daily Mail, Mourinho's impending appointment fills staff and players alike with dread.
The report suggests Mourinho's combustible nature could lead to a repeat scene at Chelsea, where dressing room unrest ultimately contributed to his sacking in December.
Jose Mourinho's downfall
Louis van Gaal meanwhile, who is under contract with the Red Devils until 2017, has angrily hit back at reports Mourinho will replace him.
United have so far publicly refrained from discussing the Mourinho situation, although executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is likely to be quizzed about it when the club release their latest set of financial results tomorrow.
