Arsenal midfielder to retire after giving up on injury fight
ARSENAL midfielder Tomas Rosicky will reportedly retire at the end of the season after giving up on his fight against persistent injuries.
Tomas Rosicky may have played his last game for Arsenal
Rosicky, 35, has played just one game for the Gunners this season.
He returned from an eight-month absence to come on as a substitute in Arsenal's 2-1 FA Cup win over Burnley last month and suffered a thigh injury that will keep him out of action for three more months.
"I don’t want to be dramatic because he suffers enough at the moment,” Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said last week when reacting to the news.
Rosicky's contract expires this summer.
And website Football Insider claim the player has told friends he is considering retiring from the game.
Rosicky joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in a £6.8million deal back in 2006.
The midfielder played 29 games for club and country last season but has struggled to keep injury free since June.
