Manchester United are reportedly set to go head-to-head with rivals Manchester City to sign Barcelona superstar Neymar.
Louis van Gaal's side were strongly linked with the 23-year-old in the summer with Neymar himself admitting the Premier League giants had made a move for his services.
And Italian news outlet Gazetta World claim United have renewed their interest in the City target after lodging a 'proper offer' in an attempt to lure the striker to Old Trafford.
Neymar has a £140million release clause in his contract, so in order to land the talisman they would have to be prepared to cough up a record-breaking fee - which would smash the £85m Real Madrid paid for Gareth Bale.
