Motherwell eye Belgium defender
MOTHERWELL have handed a trial to freed Royal Antwerp defender Bobsam Eleijko. The 27-year-old has been offered the chance to win a deal by Well boss Mark McGhee.
Eleijko, a towering central defender, has been without a club since he quit the Belgian Second Division side in the summer. McGhee has moved to try and bring in another defender as Maros Klimpl has been struggling with an ankle problem.
The Slovakian international was signed on a loan deal until January but has still to play a match because of an on-going injury. If Eleijko impresses then he could get his chance to challenge captain Stephen Craigan and Mark Reynolds for a top team berth.
The big African would also be eligible for the group stages of the UEFA Cup, should Motherwell make it past Nancy.
