Liverpool legend speaks out on Daniel Sturridge injury nightmare
JOHN BARNES has urged Liverpool not to sell Daniel Sturridge.
Barnes spent ten years at Liverpool, and was in the side that last won the league title
The 26-year-old has been plagued by a series of injuries, the latest of which is a hamstring strain which he picked up during the Reds' defeat to Newcastle.
But Barnes, who made over 300 appearances for the Anfield outfit, believes Sturridge has enough quality that Liverpool must persist through this difficult period.
“You have to have some sympathy for him,” Barnes told Talksport.
“But because of his quality I don’t think it’s necessarily time to cut our losses with Sturridge.
"He’s obviously still a great player and we need to keep our quality players at the club.”
