Manchester United manager slammed by Rio Ferdinand after leaving out star
RIO FERDINAND has blasted Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal for leaving Michael Carrick on the bench against Wolfsburg.
Ferdinand has been unimpressed with much of Louis van Gaal's management
Carrick had only made one Champions League appearance this season before the trip to Germany, starting in midfield as United beat CSKA Moscow 1-0 at Old Trafford.
But in the Red Devils’ make-or-break clash with Wolfsburg, Ferdinand, who won the Champions League under Sir Alex Ferguson in 2008, was flabbergasted that Van Gaal had left Carrick out.
“When you’ve got someone like Michael Carrick, he’s my first man I put in that team,” Ferdinand said on BT Sport.
