That is according to France Football, who claim Chelsea and Newcastle also made bids for the 17-year-old forward in the off season.
Reine-Adelaide instead opted for the Gunners in a £3million deal and joined from Ligue 2 side Lens along with team-mate Yassin Fortune.
Arsene Wenger handed the young Frenchman a chance to prove himself in the first-team during pre-season and impressed against Lyon and Wolfsburg in the Emirates Cup.
It was reported that Reine-Adelaide would be sent out on loan, but Wenger ruled out the possibility in the summer and included him in Arsenal's Champions League squad.
